Lotus Carlton – Forgotten in a Damp Shipping Container!
In the early 1990s, the family car world got a serious shock. Vauxhall (Opel) joined forces with Lotus to create the Lotus Carlton, a four-door sedan capable of humiliating the supercars of its era.
Under the bonnet lay a 3.6-litre twin-turbocharged inline-six, tuned by Lotus to produce 377 hp and 568 Nm of torque. A top speed of 285 km/h and 0–100 km/h in just over 5 seconds – astonishing for a large executive saloon in 1990.
This particular example has undergone a full Resto-Detail and has been fully protected. The car had spent years in a shipping container, simply because the owner had forgotten he even had it! After this long, silent period, we brought the Carlton back to life, making sure it now looks and is protected as if it just rolled out of the showroom.
This Lotus received from us the treatment that strikes the perfect balance between detailing and restoration.
